Senior Pastor Bill Stedman and his wife Alice grew up in the Posen area and were high school sweethearts. Shortly after a revival meeting at Faith Baptist Church where Alice (Pease) was a member, a faithful teenager, she became convicted about dating a young man unsaved and then got a burden for his soul. In the days to follow, Alice led him to Christ. Though still going to the Catholic Church, he grew in the Lord. Upon graduation, he spent two years at Illinois State University studying music until he felt the call to the ministry.
He returned home to work with the youth of the Church and enrolled in Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana. Brother Stedman and Alice were married in 1975 and have continued to serve at Faith Baptist Church. In 1986, Brother Stedman was called as pastor and has served faithfully since that time as senior Pastor. The Stedmans have two daughters, both now grown and serving the Lord in Iowa, and four grandchildren.
2007 was an exciting year, as Pastor Stedman was bestowed an honorary Doctorate of Divinity by the Shawnee Baptist College in Louisville, Kentucky. He also saw the completion of his first book “Time and Chance” which is available from the church.
Associate Pastor Brian Bussey was saved at the age of seven at his home in Ripley, WV. When he was twelve, he surrendered himself to the Lord to be a preacher at Gospel Light Youth Conference in Walkertown, NC. He then met a man that influenced his life for Christ, John Herdman. Bro. John got him involved in the bus ministry and many other areas of the church. John was the light that God used to direct his life.
After graduating from Heritage Christian Academy, he felt the Lord wanted him to go to Shawnee Baptist College. While at Shawnee, Brian met the love of his life, Cindy, and they were married in May of 2003. Brian graduated from Shawnee Baptist College in 2005 with a Bachelor Degree in Pastoral Theology.
He then went immediately to work at Faith Baptist Church. He works with the Youth and oversees many other areas of the church. He has been there since 2005. During these years, he and his wife have had three children: Branson, Braden, and BriLynne.
